Coronavirus

Important informations

In view of the fight against the COVID-19 virus, the Federal Council has reinforced measures to limit contact and has adapted the health care system. On this basis, the Council of State has decided to temporarily close the compulsory public schools, general and vocational secondary II and the Hautes Ecoles on Valaisan territory from Monday 16 March 2020.

See more information on the HES-SO and on the site of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis.

Modalities of teaching

The EDHEA maintains distance learning until the end of the school year for the vast majority of courses. However, exceptions are provided for. The details of this organisation are communicated directly to students.

For practical teaching, access to the laboratories will be possible from 25 May, according to a precise protocol (registration, schedule, ...).

Vulnerable students as defined by the FOPH, or students having a family member at risk under the same roof, are obliged to pursue their training by distance learning. If it is necessary to come to the place of study, the student contacts his or her doctor to obtain authorisation and his or her programme manager so that ad hoc measures can be put in place.

Access to EDHEA premises

Students can collect material from their workshop, from May 11th onwards, only by appointment and according to schedules and modalities defined by the school management. For an appointment, please contact Paul-Henri Rey, executive assistant.
From 25 May, they will be allowed access to the school on the condition that they are invited by the teaching staff. Access will be on the basis of an attendance schedule indicating a place, date and time to be strictly respected.

The library will reopen its doors on May 12, 2020. It is accessible by appointment only, on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 14:30. For any information concerning the loan or return of books, as well as the search for documents online, please consult the library page. The listening station, the scanner and all workstations are closed. Consultation and on-site study are suspended until further notice.

EDHEA students can borrow material from the économat by appointment only, from May 11th, according to the defined schedule and modalities. For an appointment, please contact Christophe Démoulin, in charge of the économat.

On its premises, EDHEA expects its staff and students to respect the social distancing and hygiene measures recommended by the FOPH.

Exams and evaluations for the school of art

The examinations, evaluations and continuous monitoring will be able to take place face-to-face from 8 June 2020. Students will not be penalized for failing or missing an exam.

International Mobility

The new "In" and "Out" mobilities are not authorised until at least 15 June 2020, in accordance with the ordinance which blocks visas until that date. This provision will be updated according to the evolution of the instructions of the federal authorities.

School holidays

The HES-SO rectorate has decided that there will be a minimum of four weeks during which no courses or assessments will take place. For the EDHEA, the ordinary calendar is maintained.

Taxes and tuition fees

The study fee (CHF 500) remains unchanged, but adjustments to the terms of payment can be made on request to Paul-Henri Rey, executive assistant.

The General Management of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis has decided that study fees for this semester will be reduced by 50%. This reduction is intended to provide financial relief to our students. It will be applied to the next semester's invoicing, or reimbursed to students who are doing their last semester at the EDHEA.

Contact

For any contact with the administration, please contact the secretariat by e-mail.

Exchanges with members of the teaching staff should take place at a distance if possible, via appropriate platforms and social networks. All face-to-face meetings should be conducted in accordance with the standards laid down by the FOPH.
