An alumni of the École supérieure d’art visuel in Geneva, actually HEAD, Jérôme Leuba began by making 16 mm and 35 mm films as well as a feature-length fiction film (Gaule, 2003). His artistic practice involves several mediums: photography, video, installation, and live performances. Since 2004 his works have taken the title of battlefield, and shown an interest in “zones of conflicts,“ understood simultaneously from a documentary and a allegorical perspective. He creates ambiguous images and living situations that reveal the state of how we look at things today. He had monographic exhibitions and has participated to shows at Mamco, Geneva; Casal Solleric, Palma de Mallorca; Martin Gropius Bau, Berlin; Kunsthaus, Zurich; Pori Art Museum, Pori or Modern Art Oxford. He got some art residencies in Paris, Berlin, and Johannesburg,several prices as Swiss Art Award or Manor Cultural Price, and he created Breath in Geneva, his first work in public space, as part of the exhibition Neon Parallax. In 2013 he produced a monography called battlefield in Jrp-Ringier art publishing book company. He collaborates with the gallery annex14, Zurich.
