Our students are curious and keen to learn, as are all those interested in the fields of art and design. To open new perspectives and share different points of view, EDHEA offers conferences with external specialists. Each will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the public.

Lecture by Elke Krasny

April 20, at the end of a two-day workshop for MAPS - Master of Arts in Public Spheres students, the international curator and theorist Elke Krasny delivered an online lecture open to everyone.

Conférence de Mathias Forbach (French)

Jeudi 25 février, l’artiste et illustrateur indépendant Mathias Forbach est invité par l’EDHEA à présenter en ligne son travail à travers les travaux d’autres artistes et illustrateurs qui l’ont inspiré. Par cette conférence, il rend hommage à celles et ceux qui ont influencé sa pratique. A côté de ses activités artistiques, qu’il signe du nom d’emprunt «Fichtre», il enseigne depuis plus de dix ans l’illustration aux élèves graphistes de l’EDHEA.

Pivoting the Center (French and English)

Nicole Schweizer, curator of contemporary art at MCBA, and Federica Martini, professor at EDHEA, propose the round table Pivoting the Center, a conversation with Kadiatou Diallo, Maria Iorio & Raphaël Cuomo, Céline Manz, Uriel Orlow. The round table is part of the Exotic? exhibition curated by Noémie Etienne, Claire Brizon, Chonja Lee, Etienne Wismer. It takes place February 18, 2021, in partnership with the University of Bern, the University of Lausanne, and the French-speaking branch of the Swiss Institute of Art History.

Verbier Art Summit (English)

The director of the EDHEA, Jean-Paul Felley, is also the Verbier Art Summit’s Academic Director, from January 28 to 30, 2021. His guests are the Swiss artist Claudia Comte, Professor of Environmental Sciences at EPFL (the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) Tom Battin, and cultural leaders Hedy Graber, head of the Cultural and Social Directorate at the Federation of Migros Cooperatives, and Madeleine Schuppli, head of Visual Arts at the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia.

2 Voices talk with Amelia Jones (English)

Amelia Jones is a North American feminist theorist, author, curator and historian of art and performance. This talk, as a dialogue with Valérie Félix, who teaches at the EDHEA, will allow everyone to know her incredible ability to build a new and more engaged manner to make art history, linking theory and feminist activism.
The dialogue took place on Saturday, January 16, but a recording is available.
