Valérie Félix

New head of the Fine Arts degree programme

On the recommendation of the selection committee, the management of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis has appointed Valérie Félix as the new head of the Fine Arts degree programme.

Valérie Félix is an art historian, artist, researcher, lecturer and curator specialised in digital art and culture. After training as a photographer at the Ecole d'Arts Appliqués in Vevey, she completed a bachelor's and a master's degree in art history at the University of Montreal. Recipient of several scholarships and prizes, she is currently writing her doctoral thesis on algorithms.

Valérie Félix has been teaching digital art and culture in the EDHEA's Fine Arts bachelor’s degree programme since 2019 and was appointed assistant lecturer in 2021. She also manages various research projects at the Institute of Fine Arts of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis and for the cross-disciplinary research structure Indiscipliné?. Ms Félix is the initiator, manager and commissioner of the collaborative Code/Art Research Program. She curates exhibitions in Switzerland or online, directed the artist residency XRésidence as part of the World XR Forum in Crans-Montana and regularly gives lectures, master classes and workshops in Switzerland and abroad.

On 1 January 2023, Valérie Félix will succeed Federica Martini,who has taken over the management of the CCC master’s degree programme at HEAD in Geneva. The management of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis would like to thank Ms Martini for her commitment to EDHEA since 2009.
