Getting to the school

Based in the former Sierre municipal hospital, next door to the current hospital, the edhea main building is easily accessible with public transport (‘Sierre, Hôpital’ bus stop) and on foot (15 minutes from the station).
The Movimax building in the south of the town is also close to a bus stop (‘Sierre, Devin’) and 15 minutes on foot from the station.

Monday to Thursday: 8am - 12am; 1pm - 5pm
Friday: 8am - 12am; 1pm - 4pm


Visiting the school

It is possible to visit the school by arrangement (+41 58 606 95 11, edhea@hevs.ch). Visitors will be received by the coordinator of the course in which they are interested. EDHEA is also holding open days.
Anyone wishing to find out more about the Federal VET Diploma/Federal Vocational Baccalaureate in graphic design can register for an Elève d’un jour taster session, attending a first year class for a half-day or whole day.


Teaching languages

All classes at secondary school and Bachelor’s degree level are taught in French, while Master’s degree classes are taught in French or English, or in another language depending on student requirements and the language skills of the teaching staff.


Catering

EDHEA a fresh and varied meal service, a dozen microwave ovens for general reheating use and also provides dining areas. The school has also arranged for a mobile food service supplier to sell bakery products .
A student’s monthly food costs are estimated to be CHF 600.


Study areas for Bachelor’s and Master’s students

At EDHEA, all Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students have use of study workshops. Each space is shared by groups of 2, 3 or 4 students, according to capacity. Test installation spaces are also available by reservation at Movimax and in the main building. The Movimax building is equipped with group workshops for sound and video.


Visas

Students domiciled outside Switzerland must complete the formalities required to obtain a student visa and residence permit. Relevant information can be found at www.ch.ch. It is essential to complete these formalities before entering Switzerland or even before booking a flight to Switzerland because the process can take up to three months.
NB : a tourist visa cannot be changed to a student visa.


Scholarships

For requests for study bursaries or loans, candidates must apply on their own initiative to the relevant authorities : cantonal departments, the Swiss Confederation or private foundations. More information


Accommodation costs

Students requiring accommodation in Sierre or the surrounding area have several options. Allow approximately CHF 500 per month for a shared apartment rental and CHF 700 for an individual studio apartment. The secretary’s office often has information about available apartment shares and is happy to provide interested parties with details (+41 58 606 95 11, edhea@hevs.ch). In addition, the HES-SO Valais website offers classified ads for housing.
